GALE / PRIVACY
Privacy Policy
Gale is designed around direct connections to computers you choose. We do not sell personal data, serve ads, or track you across apps and websites.

Information on your devices
Gale can store connection profiles, preferences, recent commands, voice transcripts, review drafts, and workspace state on your Apple devices. Passwords, private keys, passphrases, and Gale Desktop credentials are stored in Apple Keychain.
Direct terminal input, output, files, diffs, and agent events travel between Gale and the computers you configure. Midnight Labs does not receive direct SSH, Mosh, or Eternal Terminal session contents.
Optional Apple services
If you enable iCloud sync, connection metadata and preferences are stored in your iCloud account. Credentials sync only when you separately enable credential sync. Apple processes purchases and subscription transactions associated with your Apple Account; Midnight Labs does not receive your full payment-card details.
User-configured and hosted services
Gale sends notification registration, file, and transcription requests only to Gale Desktop endpoints you configure. Midnight Labs does not receive data from those direct endpoints by default.
If you enable Midnight Labs Cloud Relay, it processes an account identifier, device identifiers and push tokens, notification content and delivery status, subscription entitlement, hosted files, and aggregate transcription usage to provide the features you request. Notification events are retained for 7 days by default and never longer than 90 days. Hosted files expire after 24 hours by default and never later than 7 days. Device registrations and subscription entitlement remain until you delete the Cloud Relay data.
Hosted transcription is disabled unless a provider is explicitly configured. When you choose it, Gale asks before sending the recording through Gale Desktop and Cloud Relay to that provider. Cloud Relay does not intentionally persist the recording or transcript, but the provider may process or retain them under its own terms. Gale declares hosted audio collection conservatively and does not fall back to hosted transcription automatically. Aggregate request count, audio duration, and byte totals are retained for the current UTC month for quota enforcement.
Sharing and tracking
We share information only with service providers needed to operate enabled features, such as Apple for iCloud, purchases, and push delivery, and a transcription provider when hosted transcription is enabled. Gale contains no advertising SDK and does not use data for cross-app tracking.
Control and deletion
You can disable iCloud and user-configured services in Gale, remove connection profiles, and delete the app. Deleting Gale removes its app container and the data stored there from that device. It does not automatically delete credentials stored in Apple Keychain or data already synced to iCloud; those may remain after app deletion and be available after reinstall. Remove Keychain credentials with Gale's in-app controls and remove synced Gale data through Gale or Apple's iCloud storage controls. Gale Desktop data must be removed separately from each configured computer.
If you use Cloud Relay, Gale provides a destructive in-app action under Privacy & Data that removes device registrations, events, delivery records, webhook credentials, aggregate transcription usage, subscription entitlement, pending uploads, hosted-file metadata, and hosted-file blobs. External backup, proxy-log, Apple Push Notification service, and transcription-provider copies follow those processors' separate deletion schedules. You can also contact support@midnightlabsapps.com.
